Some have emailed asking for pictures of the yarn I am using for hubby's jacket. I will post pictures as soon as the second color arrives. The local yarn shop has ordered it, but I checked yesterday and it is not in yet. Hopefully it will arrive soon cause I am almost at the point on the back where I will need it!

Here is the finished hat that I double knit for son. Will I do this again? No lol. But I did learn how to do it if I ever find the need for one again lol.

He likes it and will be nice and warm under it this winter and that is what matters.

Update on shrug

I measured this morning and I now have 15 inches done! It is going quickly!

Shrug Step 1

This is what I have done so far.

I cast on 25 stitches.
Knit all rows.
Size 13 needles

I knit straight for 10 rows.

Then I began to do a knit in front and back of second stitch at begining of each row, and knit in front and back of next to last stitch end of each row. I increased till I had 60 stitches on the needles. Now I am just knitting even till it measures 52 inches. Then i will begin do do k2tog each end every row till i am back down to 25 stitches, will knit even for 10 rows and bind off. At that point I will sew the cuffs together and weave in ends. VIOLA! My shrug will be done.

This is going to be my first attempt at designing anything other then a dishcloth lol.

So here is the yarn choices. The yellow is a cotton ribbon from italy. I have 12 balls of it that a friend gave me a really long time ago. It is my favorite color, but way to bright to use just that. So today I went to Hobby Lobby and found this Haute Fur yarn to put with it. I am swatching it right now. The idea is to just make a big rectangle and then sew up the cuffs.

I will post what I decide to do as I make the decisions so that I will know what to do on the other side if I decide to increase, etc.
